ACSC Family,
The state allows school corporations to use up to three days of e-learning each school year. If another day is needed, in-person make-up days are then utilized. As of today, we have used all three of our e-learning days. Therefore, should a school cancellation occur after today, no instruction will take place on this day and we will make this day up on February 9th. Should we require another day off, the next make-up day will be on April 3rd.
To help with this decision, many resources are utilized to decide on whether to cancel or modify a school day due to inclement weather. These resources may include using current and future weather information from both local and state agencies, collaborating with local and county officials, up to date information from the Fountain County Highway Department, information from our corporation transportation director, and myself driving the roads. Student and staff safety will always be the top priority in this decision. If a delay or cancellation is needed, every effort will be made to make this decision the night prior to any change. However, this may not always be possible. I want to thank you in advance for your understanding and patience if this were to occur.
Should you have any attendance questions, please contact your student’s school office at 765-762-7000, or for any questions regarding our inclement weather procedures, please feel free to contact Dr. Williams at 765-762-7000 ext. 5001.
Educationally Yours,
Dr. Matthew Williams
