Mr. Hall and Mrs. Anderson had a great time visiting the Indiana State House today! Attica Elementary was recognized for surpassing the state’s 95% literacy benchmark on the 3rd Grade IREAD assessment (2024/2025 school year). We are incredibly proud to share that Attica has achieved over a 97% pass rate for two consecutive years! This is a tremendous honor and a true testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our teachers and students each and every day. We are so proud to be part of such an amazing school community!

It’s great to see our WRCTE North Criminal Justice students engaging in hands-on learning as they explore forensic science concepts like fingerprint analysis. Experiences like lifting and developing latent prints help bring classroom content to life while building real-world skills. We are proud of the meaningful opportunities our students have to connect learning to future career pathways.

There will be no school at Attica on Friday, April 3. The day is on the calendar as a scheduled makeup day and because we have been able to conserve our days, we have no snow days to makeup. This is not an e-learning day. There will be no instruction.

Mrs. Stafford's 4th grade writers participated in The Fountain County Historical Committee's annual essay contest. 4th graders from Attica, Covington, Southeast Fountain, and Hillsboro research and write about a prominent Fountain County person born before 1950. Our local winners are: 3rd place Elias Crane, 2nd place Bella Keeling, and 1st place Allison Crowder. There is also and overall Fountain County winner. This year's winner was our very own Aaliyah Juarez-Cruz! Congratulations!

Attica Jr. High students took on an engineering challenge to design foil boats using simple materials, testing how many pennies they could hold before sinking and then revising their designs to improve performance.

Advanced Biology students are putting their skills to the test by identifying Indiana trees using winter twig characteristics. Great hands-on learning that connects classroom knowledge to the natural world!

This past week, Stephen Baldwin of the Williamsport Police Department visited Attica High School’s WRCTE Criminal Justice classes and the 8th grade Introduction to Public Service class to share his career path and experiences as a deputy town marshal. A proud alumnus of the 2016 program, he gave students a firsthand look at law enforcement, including a tour of his 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle featuring state-of-the-art equipment. We appreciate his time and the opportunity for our students to connect learning to real-world careers!

Attica’s Annie Jr. was a wonderful performance that showcased the talent and hard work of an incredibly young cast, making our community proud. Nora Smalley was outstanding as Annie, delivering a truly memorable performance—what a great representation of Attica’s spirit and talent!

Congrats to WRC All-Conference wrestlers Aubrey Bartkowiak and Gunner Payne, along with All-Conference swimmer Aaron Saunders—an outstanding accomplishment! Attica is proud of your hard work, dedication, and the way you represent our school.

STEAM Saturday brought energy and creativity together as students explored the history of March Madness and the excitement of basketball. After learning about the tournament’s origins and impact, students put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building their own basketball hoops, and catapults. Using problem-solving and teamwork, they experimented with different designs to successfully launch their balls into their hoops. The day was a blend of history, innovation, and hands-on fun!

The Attica Winter Sports Awards Banquet was a wonderful opportunity to recognize the dedication and achievements of our student-athletes, whose hard work and commitment were on full display throughout the season. We are grateful for the unwavering support of families and the leadership of our coaches, who play a vital role in shaping both the success and character of our teams. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a memorable and successful winter season.

Attica Jr.–Sr. High School’s Theater Department is presenting Annie Jr., with performances held TONIGHT and TOMORROW NIGHT at 7:00 p.m. in the Roy Jones Auditorium. The production is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theater International and features music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin. Ticket prices are $7 for students and $10 for adults.

🍪 Sweet Surprise for AES Staff! 🍪 Mr. Hall’s sweet tooth was in full effect today… and luckily, our staff got to enjoy the benefits! A huge THANK YOU to Jennifer Bushong for stopping by and letting us know that AES was the lucky winner of the cookie giveaway with 75 entries! She generously donated a basket of cookies for our amazing staff to enjoy 🍪👏 We appreciate the continued support from our community, it truly means so much to our school! (And rumor has it Mr. Hall may have already taste-tested a cookie… or two 😉)

☀️📚 Sunshine + Good Books = A Perfect Day! Our fifth graders took full advantage of today’s beautiful 80° weather by heading outside to enjoy some reading time in the sunshine! There’s nothing better than fresh air, warm sunshine, and a great book in hand. We love seeing our students engaged, relaxed, and excited about reading in a different environment!

Gwen Duncan, Nora Smalley, and Keleigh Moore represented Attica proudly at State Solo & Ensemble in Indianapolis today! Gwen earned a Gold with Distinction—the highest award possible—while Nora and Keleigh each received Gold ratings for their solos. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, hard work, and the way they continue to represent Attica with excellence!

This past weekend at the Eastern Indoor National Competition in Owensboro, Kentucky, Attica was proudly represented by Ryleigh Farley and Dallas Hollingsworth! Ryleigh shot a personal best and a perfect 150 on her second day—an outstanding accomplishment—and Dallas also shot extremely well against top competition. We are incredibly proud of both of them for representing Attica with excellence and true Ramblers pride!
