This week’s FFA elementary craft brought creativity, agriculture, and plenty of smiles together in one fun activity. We love seeing our younger students connect with FFA and experience hands-on learning in such an engaging way!

In Mrs. Mattern’s Work-Based Learning class, students recently took time to reflect on the chapter of life that is closing and the new one about to begin. Today’s culminating activity—flying paper airplanes—served as a powerful symbol of launching into a future that is both exciting and full of possibility. ⚫🔴

Mr. Latoz's 8th grade Public Safety class has been diving into the science of fingerprints and learning how to lift latent prints like real investigators. Today, students put their skills to the test by dusting and lifting fingerprints from lightbulbs—hands-on learning at its best!

Our community is proud of our boys swim team at the Crawfordsville Sectional Finals! Aaron Saunders earned 2nd and 4th in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle — setting new PRs and school records in both events, while Roman Mitchell battled to 13th in the 100 backstroke and 15th in the freestyle. Their hard work, heart, and pride represent the very best of who we are, in and out of the pool.

Today we held the first session of our Attica Leadership Training, and it was an exciting step forward for our school. Participating individuals represent many segments of our school and community — different grade levels, interests, activities, backgrounds, and perspectives. This training is designed to help students grow as positive influences and strong representatives of our school, while learning how to serve others and strengthen our culture.

Congratulations to Gwen Duncan, Nora Smalley, and Keleigh Moore who will proudly represent Attica tomorrow at the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Competition hosted at Perry Meridian High School.

They earned this honor by receiving Gold ratings at the district level in Group I — music of the highest degree of difficulty. We are proud of their dedication, preparation, and school spirit as they carry the Attica name onto the state stage. Go Red Ramblers!

Small Engines has been a huge hit in Mrs. Galloway’s Ag Power class! Students are currently dismantling a Briggs & Stratton engine and will soon put their skills to the test by reassembling it. We love seeing hands-on learning that builds real-world skills and keeps our students engaged and problem-solving every day.

Students in Ms. Phillippo’s class put their communication skills to the test with a fun and challenging activity focused on clear directions and careful listening. Without being able to say what the picture was or show the image, one student had to guide another step-by-step through drawing it. The lesson encouraged students to adjust their approach, think creatively, and strengthen how they communicate with one another.

This STEAM Saturday, students used math and engineering to build 3-d puzzle pieces. With a bit of trial and error, they used their pieces to create a heart for Valentine’s Day. Working collaboratively, students rotated, flipped, and reconfigured their creations, applying problem-solving strategies and persistence to turn structured forms into creativity!

4th grade field trip to the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra’s “Symphony On the Go”. They got to hear Stravinsky’s “Firebird” in addition to part of his “Pulcinella” and “Tarantella”. The orchestra also treated them to a live performance of John Williams’ “Jurassic Park”. Some of the students even had their story illustrations displayed on the screen during the concert!
