At this time of year, many people reach out and ask, “What are the needs in our community?” or “How can I help?” Your willingness to support others truly reflects the spirit of this season. The Attica Community Foundation has created several funds designed to directly assist our students, teachers, and families. See the attached letter for more information about some of the ways you can make a meaningful impact in our community this season.

During this week's STEAM Saturday, we explored the fascinating engineering behind the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons. Students learned how these giant inflatables are designed, from structural planning and material selection to the physics that keep them afloat. After discovering the science and creativity involved, participants applied what they learned by designing and constructing their own parade-style balloons. The session blended engineering principles with hands-on creativity!

The AHS principles of culinary classes prepared and enjoyed a full Thanksgiving lunch today. Congrats to all these students on their tremendous efforts. Mrs. Mattern would like to thank Mrs Truelove, Mr. Robertson, and Dallas Bartlett for the extra help they lent to the occasion.

Parents: Check out our Lost & Found and see if anything is from your house!!

Seven students from the high school choir attended IMEA All-Region Choir yesterday at the University of Indianapolis. They sang in a 186-person choir directed by Dr. Andrew Crow, the Director of Choral Activities at Ball State University. The Attica DECA chapter has been busy planning dress up days for this week to recognize the month of November as DECA month.
Additionally, the students are selling DECA squares as a fundraiser. The high school class who purchases the most DECA squares during this week, will receive a donut party for their class the following week.
As of this morning, Thursday, the sophomore class is in the lead. That could soon change!!!

Mr. Campbell's government classes are on a field trip to the Fountain County Courthouse to sit in on Judge Campbell's morning docket. This is a phenomenal opportunity for our students to see the inner workings of an actual day of court.

Thank you, Veterans! Here are a few highlights from today's program.

Our AHS students were involved in assisting with the Hope Springs pie production today. They cooperated with various community members to mass produce hundreds of pies on the first day. This was a great learning experience! Thanks to Hope Springs for allowing us to help.

Thank you to Officer Calvin Hill for filling in as SRO while Officer Askren is away.

The AHS principles of culinary classes have been discussing food scarcity and how to get the most out of your food expenditures. Today they served up a My Plate dinner designed to feed four people and hit all the required food categories for $10. It can be done as evidenced by their smiles!
