Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,
Homecoming 2025 is in full swing!

This week’s spirit days are off to a great start. On Monday, students hopped out of bed and came to school in their pajamas. Today, we saw plenty of team pride for Jersey Day. Tomorrow is Class Color Day and Anything but a Backpack. Thursday is Hot versus Cold- dress for summer in shorts and a t-shirt or bundle up with hats and gloves. Friday is Gold Out/Glow Out- wear gold or neon.

Tomorrow evening (Wednesday) at 6:00 pm at Lewis Bruce Stadium, you will find our students in grades 9-12 playing some powderpuff football. The girls will be suited up and in action, while the boys will be coaching. Here is the schedule of the games:

Game 1: Freshman girls vs. Sophomore girls

Game 2: Junior girls vs. Senior girls

Game 3: Winners of Game 1 and Game 2 face off

Final Match: Game 3 winner vs. the Staff Team

Friday evening, the Homecoming events continue with a parade beginning at 5:00 pm. The cheerleaders, band, decorated trucks and floats, our homecoming court, and the football team will head down Perry Street, turn up on Washington Street (by the public library), and return to the high school on Brady Street.

After the parade, the Attica Boosters Club will be tailgating by the baseball field, serving walking tacos. Come join in for some great food and fellowship prior to the game.

At 7:00 pm, the Red Ramblers will be taking on the North Vermillion Falcons. During halftime, a king and queen will be crowned.

We would love to see the stands filled with our community supporting the Red Ramblers. Let’s make Homecoming 2025 a memorable one!

We kicked off this year’s STEAM Saturday, where students explored the world of apples through hands-on science activities. They learned about the lifecycle of an apple, from seed to fruit, and conducted experiments to investigate the density of apples, and whether they would sink or float. They then created their own boats from an apple, and tested their ability to float. We had apple smiles for a snack, and then concluded with a fun and creative twist as students made their own apple-scented slime, combining science with sensory play!

The students in Mrs. Current's Introduction to Business class got to apply their skills to paycheck scavenger hunt. The students had to locate where net pay and gross pay were located on a paycheck. They were able to tell if a person was paid weekly, or bi-weekly. The students also had to figure the amount of deductions that were taken out of that paycheck.

🌟 AES Student Council in Action 🌟 Six of our AES Student Council members were invited to take part in the Attica 200 Bicentennial celebrations! From grinding flour and making bricks, to boring logs and navigating a replica canal lock, our students had the chance to step back in time and experience the roots of our hometown, Attica. What an incredible opportunity for them to connect with history while celebrating our community’s 200 years!
